DON'T WAIT. UPDATE.

All Medical enrollees should take the following steps:

  1. Update your contact information. If your address, phone number, or email changes, update it right away. Maryland Medicaid uses this information to send you important updates.
  2. Report a change in your income or household. You must report certain changes within 10 days. Some of these changes may affect whether you are subject to the new work requirements or a six-month renewal.
  3. Renew your coverage on time. When you get your renewal notice, complete it before the due date to avoid gaps in coverage.

New Requirements for 2027

Key Message: If you are an adult in the "Expansion Category," two major changes are coming:

Work/Community Engagement: Starting Jan 1, 2027, some adults must complete 80 hours per month of qualifying activities (work, volunteering, or job training) to stay covered.

Frequent Renewals: You may be required to renew your coverage every 6 months instead of once a year.

Exemptions: You are exempt if you are pregnant, have a disability, are a student, or are a primary caregiver for a child under 14.
