Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Description

Nature of Work:

Serves as the Care Coordinator for the Dental Care Coordination program. Manages dental referrals for uninsured and underinsured county adults who contact the Dental Program seeking affordable dental care. Recruits dental providers to participate in self-pay discounted dental care plans. Coordinates patient care. Provides information and educates patients on oral health. Conducts community outreach.

Assist with administrative functions within the dental program. Requires an understanding of office procedures, recording of appointments, verification of eligibility, customer service, medical billing, and the ability to initiate them independently. Must have good customer service skills when working with the public, face-to-face, and over the phone, and the ability to learn specialized computer systems and programs.

Maintains important and confidential records and schedules. Enters, assembles, updates, verifies, retrieves, and summarizes data, and prepares reports using computer databases or spreadsheet software. May use word processing, database, spreadsheet or desktop publishing computer software applications in order to prepare and maintain statistical and numerical reports, charts, graphs or other documents. Types manuscripts, correspondence, statements, tables and forms. Also opens, sorts, reads and distributes incoming correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).

Experience:

Two years of professional experience in clinical or administrative work in health or medical services.

License or Certification:

Must have a valid Maryland Driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
