Job Description
Nature of Work: Work as part of a two-person team, supervised by an Environmental Health Specialist III or Environmental Sanitarian Supervisor, to conduct surveys and educate residents to improve property conditions that contribute to rodent populations within identified communities. Distribute educational materials and build relationships with residents on proper trash storage, exterior maintenance and rodent control measures; collect field data and report on rodent activity; participate in securing community-wide improvements on proper trash storage, exterior maintenance and rodent control measures; and perform re-inspections of properties to evaluate progress toward reaching community-wide goals. Must be able to walk 3 miles per day, 5 days per week in alleyways and on properties with dogs, cats, sloping terrain, high grass and weeds and rodents. Must be able to perform field duties during high-temperature conditions, rainy weather, and in areas where rodent populations are active. |
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED) |
License or Certification: Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for travel to identified communities; eligible for mileage reimbursement. |
