Department of Health Seeks Grant Applications from Community Organizations to Sustain Management and Assume Operations of the Brooklyn Park Healthy Food Pantry
The Anne Arundel County Department of Health is seeking grant applications from community organizations in Anne Arundel County to sustain management and take over operations of the Brooklyn Park Healthy Food Pantry (BPHFP). The selected community group will receive a mini-grant to sustain the BPHFP by:
- Assisting the pantry manager with operations
- Recruiting and scheduling pantry volunteers
- Managing the Link2Feed account registration system
- Maintaining a clean and welcoming pantry
- Creating partnerships and long-term capacity building within the community
The BPHFP is currently located at the North County Recreation Center, in partnership with Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks, and is open on Thursday evenings from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. by appointment. The pantry uses a neighbor/resident choice model that allows residents to choose food with dignity and reduces food waste. The BPHFP provides health education and promotes healthy food to improve health and wellness. Contracts for these services will be awarded starting July 1, 2025, through a competitive process.
Application Deadline: Submit applications and all supporting documentation to hdahbuzz@aacounty.org by Monday, July 21, 2025, by 4:00 p.m.
