Office Secretary, School Health

Nature of Work: 

Provide secretarial support to the School Health and Support Director of Nursing, Deputy Director of Nursing, three Nursing Program Managers, nine Nursing Program Supervisors, and a robust training department that provides School Health orientation, MBON-certified medication technician (CMT) training, directing over 300 School Health registered nurses and support staff assigned to health rooms, as well as First Aid, CPR and other emergency response training for staff in 130 Anne Arundel County Public School buildings, serving over 86,000 students.

Education: 

High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)

Experience: 

Performing clerical duties in an office or healthcare setting.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications: 

• Communication Skills: Provide continuous telephone coverage, respond to inquiries, and distribute messages promptly and professionally.
• Organizational Skills: Handle various administrative tasks efficiently and maintain organized records and files. This includes managing correspondence, scheduling interviews, tracking supplies, maintaining inventory lists and entering data accurately into databases.
• Technical Proficiency: Type documents, create forms and announcements, enter data into databases, and generate reports.
• Driver’s license and transportation.
