Job Description
Nature of Work: Under the direct supervision of a school nurse (RN). They will be sent to substitute in schools throughout the county as needed due to absences or vacancies of health assistants or special needs aides. Travel mileage to these locations is reimbursed at the county rate. Responsibilities may include first aid and administering medication as delegated by the school nurse. May also include a variety of health tasks and clerical work. Based on assignment, other specialized duties may be assigned, and work hours may fluctuate. |
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED). |
License or Certification: Must possess a current Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) Nursing Assistant Certificate or Geriatric Nursing Certification. Must successfully complete the MBON-approved School Health Certified Medication Technician training program provided by the Anne Arundel County Department of Health. Driver’s License required. |
Notes: Candidate interviews are available upon successful completion of the Maryland Board of Nursing-required basic Math and Reading test. |
