Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Description

Nature of Work:

Oversee the Opioid Misuse Prevention Program initiative, including the implementation of the Academic Detailing strategy and the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) model, with a focus on quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. Conduct in-person and virtual Academic Detailing sessions with prescribers and pharmacists, using motivational interviewing techniques, to provide evidence-based information and resources on best practices for prescription of opioids, overdose prevention and risk reduction. Implement the SPF process, including needs assessment, capacity building, strategic planning, implementation of strategies, and evaluation, and ensure that data are collected for process and outcome evaluation. Write reports, including strategic plans and program evaluation reports. Develop tools and conduct needs assessment activities related to substance use disorder prevention, including the development of pre- and post-tests, key interviews and focus groups with priority populations, and the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data related to substance use prevention, and submit documents through the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process. Develop educational materials for the general public to provide opioid misuse prevention education and other prevention messages. Provide opioid misuse prevention educational materials to patients via pharmacies and prescribers’ offices.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Minimum of two years working in public health or a similar field. Experience working with healthcare providers and pharmacists; public speaking; writing formal reports and developing educational materials; and strategic planning and evaluation. Excellent and situation-appropriate oral and written communication skills.
