Annapolis, MD (April 30, 2025) – The Anne Arundel County Department of Health, Environmental Health Bureau will end annual “wet season” evaluation and percolation tests on Friday, May 2, 2025. Wet season applications must have been received by April 18, 2025 to have been eligible for testing during the 2025 wet season.
The wet season test period is set for Anne Arundel County using data from monitoring wells throughout the County to determine groundwater levels. Based on the recent decrease of observed water levels, wet season testing will end on May 2, 2025. Wet season testing is required on County properties that are located in areas where high water table conditions occur. Testing helps avoid inaccurately assessing the ability of a septic system to properly function in all seasons of the year. The information provided by the site evaluation and perc test is used to determine the size and type of septic system that can be installed on a specific lot.
