All therapists at Adolescent and Family Services are trauma trained and certified. We provide services in both English and Spanish.

Mental health services are offered by a team of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors who provide support to children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral issues.

Adolescent and Family Services also recognizes that substance use disorders and mental health concerns are sometimes co-occurring. For this reason, we provide integrated care for adolescents who may be also struggling with substance use.

AFS Staff work with patients and their families to create holistic treatment plans that address the challenges related to their behavioral health issues using a person-centered, trauma informed approach.

Staff provide information and services, including:

  • diagnostic evaluations
  • drug and alcohol assessments
  • individual, family and group therapy
  • medication monitoring
  • urine screening

If a patient requires a higher level of care, appropriate referrals are made.

AFS accepts Maryland Medicaid and CareFirst Insurance. Costs for services will be discussed at initial screening.
