Location: Various locations throughout the County. Home base will be at 122 North Langley Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21060.

Salary: $50 per hour

Benefits: Participation in the County’s group health plan (including dental, prescription and optical), as well as paid holidays, annual leave and sick leave. The selected employee may also participate in the County’s deferred compensation program at his or her own expense.

Work Schedule: Core hours for the position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Job Description

Nature of Work: The selected candidate will be responsible for meeting, assessing and diagnosing people living with Opioid Use Disorder (“OUD”) who are seeking buprenorphine services from the Wellmobile. The Wellmobile is a mobile health vehicle that provides services throughout Anne Arundel County.

The practitioner will be responsible for prescribing appropriate medications and treatment recommendations that will contribute to a patient’s recovery, prevent future health issues and promote a healthier lifestyle. The selected candidate will work with a team to coordinate a patient’s progress and transition the patient to a community provider for continuing care. The ideal candidate would have the knowledge and skills to provide prevention, screening, intervention and treatment for substance use disorders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and active Maryland state license as a nurse practitioner.
  • Current and active DEA license with the ability to prescribe buprenorphine or willing to register to become a DATA 2000 provider.

Desired Qualifications:
One year of experience prescribing buprenorphine or other medications used for opioid use disorders.
