Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Salary: $19.15 per hour
Benefits: Participation in the County’s group health plan including prescription, dental, and optical, paid holidays and sick leave. Optional deferred compensation program at employee’s own expense.

Job Description

Nature of Work:

Facilitate the recovery process for individuals referred for opioid or other substance use disorders. Provide wrap-around support to clients referred for Crisis Stabilization Services (CSS) and Recovery Housing (RH) by assisting with the identification and linkage to community resources as well as treatment coordination and follow-up with individuals admitted to treatment. A majority of the work is completed independently in the field. Establish contact with client within 24 hours of admission and/or referral. Maintain regular communication with client until discharged from caseload. Work closely with CSS and RH provider staff to ensure client receives consistent support. Assist CSS provider staff in reducing barriers to treatment including, but not limited to insurance assistance, ID cards and birth certificates, medication, transportation and phone calls to potential treatment providers. Complete progress notes in Welligent within 24 hours of contact with client. Email daily end of shift notes to include client progress summary as well as other daily activities. Provide positive feedback and overall recovery support to client. Assist clients with treatment navigation, social services and community recovery supports. Explain Peer Support Services (PSS) and facilitate referrals to Peer Support as appropriate. Follow-up with admitted clients at by providing follow-up surveys at the determined benchmarks. Advocate for community treatment and recovery support services. Empower individuals using positive feedback to make informed decisions regarding recovery pathway. Maintain communication with Department of Health staff and RCC, PSS and CSS providers. Monitor and respond to incoming Care Coordination calls. Conduct naloxone training and distribution to each CSS enrolled client prior to discharge.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Associate degree in behavioral health field from an accredited college or university.
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health field from an accredited college or university.
Experience:

Working with individuals affected by substance misuse.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Anne Arundel County Resources, experience working with individuals on medications for opioid use disorders, ability to coach and model effective coping skills and develop a relationship of rapport and trust, strong communication skills with other professionals, coworkers and clients, basic computer skills and professional demeanor.
