What is the Well and Septic System Assistance Program?

The Well and Septic System Assistance Program provides help to eligible Anne Arundel County homeowners to pay all or part of the cost to:

  • Repair or replace a failed septic system
  • Repair or replace a private well

To Be Eligible:

  • You must have low to average family income.
  • You must be the owner and live at the property.
  • The property must be located in Anne Arundel County.

Well and Septic System Assistance Program – Income Limit
(Effective July 1, 2018)

Number of People In The Family Approximate Income Up To:
1 $36,420
2 $49,380
3 $62,340
4 $75,300
For Each Additional Family Member, Add $12,960

How much assistance is available?

  • Financial help ranges from 50% to 100% of the cost to repair or replace a septic system or private well.
  • The maximum assistance available is $15,000 per family.

Is proof of income required to receive assistance?

Yes, you will need to provide proof of income including

  • current pay stubs for each family member and
  • copies of tax returns for the last three years for each family member.
