Salary:  Registered Nurse $30-32 per hour or Licensed Practical Nurse $24.29 per hour. (40 hours per week)

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (May require some evening hours.)

Benefits: Participation in the county’s group health plan (including prescription, dental and optical), paid holidays, annual leave and sick leave. The selected applicant may also participate in the county’s deferred compensation plan at his or her own expense.

Job Description

Nature of Work: The Nurse Coordinator is the lead in a two-person team that supports the county Hub and Spoke program. The program is designed to expand access to buprenorphine to those with opioid use disorders residing in the county AND will provide the needed coordination to create a robust bidirectional transfer of individuals based on the level of need. This position, in collaboration with the Buprenorphine Expansion Coordinator, will be responsible for developing partnerships and agreements with spoke partners and is responsible for ensuring all spoke sites are working in coordination with the scope of the project. This position will meet with all new hub and spoke clients through various stages of screening and assessment, medication initiation, stabilization and maintenance. Duties also include performance monitoring activities, including required timely and accurate data reporting as well as participating in all training and consultation required by the grant.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.


  • Experience with substance use disorder screenings and medications used in the treatment of opioid use disorders.
  • Ability to manage competing demands
  • Possesses strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills


  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.
  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education

License: Candidates for this position must possess a current license as a registered nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing
