The CDC’s National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) has arrived in Anne Arundel County!
NHANES the nation’s mobile health survey is one of the most unique and on-going national surveys that monitors the health and nutritional status of adults and children across the United States. CDC has been conducting NHANES since 1960. NHANES collects data on the health of the people living in the U.S. through health interviews and actual physical exams, providing a complete picture of the health of the nation.
NHANES staff travel across the country in the Mobile Exam Centers to reach participants who have been selected for the survey to conduct interviews and physical measurements.
Anne Arundel County is one of several counties selected this year. Invitations to participate began arriving at residents’ homes on June 14, 2021. The survey will be in the area only for a short period of time. The NHANES Mobile Exam Center will be in town starting July 26 until September 25.
Participation in the survey is by invitation only – be on the lookout for your letter and make sure to complete the brief eligibility survey online! Once selected, a health interviewer will arrange a convenient time to complete the survey over the phone.
