Salary: $48,000 to $58,000, based on license and experience
Benefits: Participation in the county’s group health plan (including dental, optical and prescription), paid holidays, annual leave and sick leave. The selected employee may also participate in the county’s deferred compensation program at his or her own expense.
Nature of Work: This position provides clinical behavioral health services to children, adolescents and their families in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic as part of a multidisciplinary team. The therapist provides psychotherapy services to individuals ages 4 to 18, as well as family and group therapy. If clinically indicated and part of the treatment plan, the therapist may conduct urine drug screens for adolescents. Duties include timely and accurate documentation of clinic contact and coordination with outside service providers and schools. Participation in clinic team meetings and some evening hours are required. Positive, trauma informed work environment.
Education: Master’s degree in social work, psychology or counseling.
Experience: Master’s degree with demonstrated experience and interest in rendering clinical services to children, adolescents and families in a mental health or co-occurring treatment setting. Knowledge of play therapy and trauma-focused work is a plus.
License: Licensed in Maryland as a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor; LGPC or LMSW may also apply.
