Salary: $16.00 per hour

Job Description

Nature of Work:

Under the supervision of the Office Supervisor, provide clerical support to the Program Manager, Medical Director, Clinical Supervisors and professional staff of a child and adolescent behavioral health center. Provide customer service to youth and their families utilizing center services.

  • Coordinate daily patient/clinician activity through front office coverage and check-in for patients and families and schedule appointments. Answer phones, assess the reason for the call, and handle or forward to the appropriate person. Write documentation in electronic charts as necessary.
  • Manage appointments and scheduling for psychiatrist. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: scheduling new and updated psychiatric evaluations, scheduling monthly staff meetings with therapists, sending reminder calls/texts and appointment links to patients.
  • Maintain coordination of care letters with Primary Care Physicians. Maintain and update tracking to ensure letters are sent and releases are signed and current. Prepare tracking reports for supervisor.
  • Maintain coordination of new patient paperwork. Scan and enter patient forms/correspondence into electronic charts. Prepare tracking reports for supervisor.
  • Update and load daily reminder calls for each patient. Maintain and update tracking to ensure all releases are signed and current.
  • Secretarial duties include, but are not limited to: typing, filing, copying, medical records management, fee collection and bank deposits. Backs up other support staff when there are absences or vacancies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
 

Experience:

Two years performing secretarial or clerical work, including working with computer programs and typing.

Notes:

Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college or technical school may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience, up to two years of the required experience.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a behavioral health setting and or clinic setting.
