Job Description
Nature of Work: Under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Assessment and Planning, support, monitor and coordinate complex strategic health policies and plan activities related to countywide gun violence intervention efforts. Particular emphasis will be placed on evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing policies and programs that address public health challenges presented by community gun violence. Assist in interpreting federal and state policies and guidelines related to gun violence; arrange and facilitate meetings; seek funding to support GVIT efforts and manage GVIT grant funding; assist with Cure Violence Global program development and implementation; and complete reports and other documentation. Other areas in public health may be addressed. |
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in public administration, health care administration, behavioral health, social work, psychology or other related field from an accredited college or university. |
Experience: Two years of related professional work experience OR a master’s degree in one of the fields listed above; and one year of related experience. |
Desired or Preferred Qualifications: Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to work on a team and independently; excellent written and oral communication skills; understanding of gun violence as a public health issue; community stakeholder coordination experience; proficient with Google Workspace, Zoom, Microsoft Office and SmartSheet. |
