Hours: 15 to 20 Hours per Month
Nature of Work: Serve as a Clinical Specialist for the Department of Health to provide medical services in the tuberculosis (TB) chest clinics, evaluating and treating patients primarily for latent TB infection, with some opportunity to treat active TB cases. Treatment will be in accordance with Maryland Department of Health, American Thoracic Society and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations. This position will provide consultation for the Epidemiology Program concerning reportable diseases and outbreaks, as well as provide after-hours on-call support for the Department. Must be able to participate in chest clinic two days per month and be available remotely for consultation.
Notes: Must provide documentation of current professional malpractice insurance with a minimum of $1 million per incident/$3 million aggregate coverage.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications: More than two years of experience in treating infectious diseases or tuberculosis preferred, otherwise, more than three years of experience in an outpatient medical setting.
License: Candidates must possess a current license as a Nurse Practitioner from the Maryland Board of Nursing or Physician from the Maryland Board of Physicians.
