Job Description
Nature of Work:
Working as part of a team, conduct surveys and educate residents to improve property conditions that contribute to rodent populations within identified communities. Distribute educational materials and build relationships with residents on proper trash storage, exterior maintenance and rodent control measures. Collect field data and report on rodent activity. Participate in securing communitywide improvements on proper trash storage, exterior maintenance and rodent control measures. Perform reinspections of properties to evaluate progress toward reaching communitywide goals. |
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED). |
Experience:
Must be able to walk 3 miles per day, 5 days per week in alleyways and on properties with dogs, cats, sloping terrain, high grass and weeds. Must be able to perform field duties during high-temperature conditions, rainy weather and in areas where rodent populations are active. |
License or Certification:
Must have a valid Maryland driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for travel to identified communities; eligible for mileage reimbursement. |
Notes:
Technicians will work as part of a two-person team that is supervised by an Environmental Health Specialist III or Environmental Sanitarian Supervisor. |
