Salary: $30.44 per hour with benefits
Benefits: Participation in the county’s group health plan (including dental, optical and prescription), paid holidays, annual and sick leave and mileage reimbursement. The selected employee may also participate in the county’s deferred compensation program at his or her own expense.
Nature of Work: This position, under the supervision of the Healthy Start Program Supervisor, will provide education and case management through home visits, face-to-face contacts or telephone calls to high-risk pregnant women and children up to the age of two years. The Community Health Nurse will also provide outreach to private individuals, health care providers, community groups and organizations to educate them about services available and to obtain referrals.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Maternal/child health and home visiting experience preferred.
1) A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.
2) Two years of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.
License: Candidates for this position must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
