Location: North County Health Services Center at 791 Aquahart Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 and may require travel to various locations throughout the county.
Salary: $15.32 per hour
Benefits: Participation in the County’s group health plan, as well as paid holidays, annual and sick leave. The selected employee may also participate in the County’s deferred compensation program at his or her own expense.
Nature of Work: Under the direction of the WIC clinic supervisor, the WIC administrative aide will determine program eligibility, manage referral follow-ups, conduct administrative duties, assist with managing the WIC Program phone lines, schedule appointments, provide program information and perform precertification interviews to prospective clients. The selected candidate will perform a wide range of clerical support tasks and other duties as assigned. Employees in this class do not have supervisory responsibilities. Successful applicants will attend WIC training through the Maryland WIC Training Center.
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical duties. Must be able to speak,
read and write in Spanish and English.
Note: 1. Applicants may substitute education from an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for one year of experience on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Note: 2. WIC experience preferred.
