Job Description
Nature of Work: Under the supervision of the Strengthening Families supervisor and the prevention supervisor, consultants will facilitate the Strengthening Families Program curriculum with groups of parents, adolescents and children, virtually or in person. Strengthening Families is a once a week, 14-week program for parents and their children ages 6 to 17 who are at-risk for substance misuse. The program encourages family bonding by increasing communication skills. The work hours will be part-time year round from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (Working hours might vary.)
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate required. Bachelor’s degree in education, human services or public health preferred.
Experience: Prefer teaching experience or experience in leading groups with stressed families, families in crisis, adults, adolescents or children. Must be bilingual (English-Spanish).
Trainings: Completion of the two-day Strengthening Families Program Facilitator Group Leader Training is preferred, but not required.
