Job Description
Nature of Work:
Responsible for assisting with the administrative needs of the Office of Human Resources. Assist with data entry and tracking, report compilation, class scheduling and compliance monitoring for the department. Provide clerical support to and support administrative activities in all areas within Human Resources. Answers the primary telephone line, assesses the reason for calls and handles or forwards calls to the appropriate person. Writes documentation in electronic format as necessary. Manage appointments and scheduling for the Director and Deputy Director of Human Resources as necessary. Maintain and update logs for Human Resources Action Memos and update tracker as needed. Provide secretarial services, which include but are not limited to typing, files, copies and records management. Provides support to Human Resources staff when there are absences or vacancies. |
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED). |
Experience:
Two years performing secretarial or clerical work including working with computer programs and typing. Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Windows software and Google applications. Excellent proofreading, grammar, and oral and written communication skills. Very strong time management and facilitation skills. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to develop timelines and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and on a team. Energetic, enthusiastic, tenacious self-starter and team player. |
Notes:
A major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college or technical school may be substituted at the rate of 30 credits for one year of experience up to two years of the required experience. |
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a public health setting and/or clinic setting. Previous experience in administration at the county or state level. |
