Job Description
Nature of Work: The function of this position is to preserve, promote, and protect the health and well-being of all people by advancing health equity in Anne Arundel County by providing comprehensive administrative, data management, and logistical support to the Healthy Communities Program Manager and Supervisors, specifically for HIV/STI initiatives. This role is crucial for the efficient daily operations of the program, encompassing responsibilities from managing client data and scheduling appointments to handling procurement and financial reconciliations. The Office Secretary serves as a primary point of contact for clients and external inquiries, ensures the smooth running of bi-monthly clinics, and maintains strict confidentiality of all program information. |
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED) |
Experience: Prior administrative/secretarial experience. Proficiency with Google Workspace, data entry and customer service. Experience with purchasing and procurement. Candidate must be highly organized and able to prioritize daily activities. |
Notes: The selected candidate will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland and have the ability to drive and operate a vehicle with mileage reimbursement provided per Department of Health polices. The position will be required to work day shift, evening shift, and weekends as needed, and be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift 25 lbs. |
Desired or Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple phone lines, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, comfortable working with diverse clientele from a multitude of backgrounds; non judgemental and open minded; comfortable talking about testing and treating STIs, comfortable working in a clinical setting.
