Community Health Outreach Worker, Part-time

Nature of Work:

Under the supervision of the Chronic Disease Prevention Program Supervisor, perform tobacco retailer education visits for the Chronic Disease Prevention Program. Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting licensed tobacco retailer education visits to ensure compliance with local and federal laws, ensuring that those under 21 years of age are not illegally sold tobacco products.

Must have a personal vehicle available for use with mileage reimbursement provided per Department of Health policies. Must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in Maryland. May require occasional evening and weekend assignments.

Education: 

High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).

Experience:

Ability to verbally communicate fluently in English. The ability to verbally communicate in Spanish is preferred but not required.

License or Certification:

Valid Maryland driver’s license.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with anti-tobacco education and community health outreach activities.
