- Department Awards Alcohol Prevention Grants to Serenity Sistas' Inc. and The Center of Transformation
The Anne Arundel County Department of Health’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Education Services has awarded a Maryland Strategic Prevention Framework Community Implementation Grant of $3,350 to The Center of Transformation to lead the Western Anne Arundel Substance Abuse Prevention (WASP) Coalition. In addition, Serenity Sistas’ Inc. was awarded $20,000 to establish and lead the Annapolis Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) Coalition.
The funding will be used for the implementation of evidence-based prevention strategies and programs specifically designed to reduce the prevalence of underage drinking in the community. Both grants are supported by funding from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the State of Maryland Behavioral Health Administration.
