Below are some comprehensive health outreach activities that promote good public health to County residents.
Eligibility and Enrollment Program
Emergency Preparedness and Response Office
- Develops emergency preparedness and response plans, information and educational materials for health emergencies.
Healthy Start
- Provides home visiting and case management to pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children under the age of 2.
- ACCU/Ombudsman assists clients referred by their managed care organizations (MCO) for special problems or noncompliance.
Epidemiology & Immunizations Program
- Immunizations provides routine immunizations to children 0-18 years of age at area health centers, and flu and pneumococcal vaccine to at-risk adults.
- Rabies Control provides pre-exposure vaccination clinics for occupational risk and consultation on human risk assessment and treatment for animal bites and exposures.
- Surveillance receives and analyzes reports, investigates reported outbreaks, and institutes public health measures as needed.
Infectious Disease Control Program
- HIV Testing and Prevention Education provides free confidential HIV counseling, testing and referral services, as well as prevention education programs and materials.
- Sexually Transmitted Disease Control provides counseling and referrals for diagnosis and treatment of STDs.
- Partner Counseling and Referral Services assists people diagnosed with syphilis or HIV/AIDS and lets their sex partner or other contacts know if they should be tested.
- HIV/AIDS Case Management Services provides medical, health care and social service support for HIV positive residents who have no insurance or have inadequate health care coverage.
- Tuberculosis Control provides treatment services to County residents with active TB or those with latent TB in targeted groups.
- Refugee Screening provides healthcare screening and evaluation of persons with refugee status.
