On this page, you will find a schedule for the Alex the Alligator sun safety programs scheduled at various branches of the Anne Arundel County Public Libraries and fun activities you can do with your children.
If you have any questions, call the Learn To Live Line at 410-222-7979.

Alex is back with a new program!
Alex the Alligator, whom many of you met last year,
is enjoying growing up in Anne Arundel County.
Originally from Florida, Alex is learning during his adventures
how to protect his skin from the sun to keep it from turning to leather.
The program is presented by
the Anne Arundel County Department of Health staff
and focuses on the importance of sun safety throughout the year.
Children will be able to dress a picture of Alex with
sun protective clothing for each season of the year.
Children will also sing along and dance
to the Sun Safe Pokey. They will learn
how animals protect themselves from the
sun, and they will play a beach ball
game. At the end of the program,
all particpants will meet Alex the Alligator.
The program lasts about 30-45 minutes.
