Registered Nurse or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (Utilization Review Clinician)

Location: 122 North Langley Road, Suite B, Glen Burnie, MD 21060
Salary: $26.89 per hour
Full-Time County Contractual with Benefits

Nature of Work: Supports the Opportunity for Treatment Fund (OTF) Program Coordinator utilizing clinical knowledge, expertise and criteria guidelines. Implements utilization review procedures by prospectively, concurrently and retrospectively assessing the clinical information along with ASAM-PPC-R2 guidelines and OTF protocols for treatment funding authorizations and reauthorizations; monitors and reviews quality of care issues; monitors and facilitates appropriate utilization of resources; monitors lengths of stay for all OTF-funded admissions; and monitors treatment programs.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Five years of experience in substance abuse treatment. Knowledge and experience in the use of ASAM-PPC-R2.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of clinical experience in residential substance abuse treatment; Two years of experience in behavioral health utilization/care management or managed care.
Preference given to candidates with experience in medical record review for level of care in discharge planning; experience interacting clinically with private treatment providers; and computer knowledge/skill.
License: Must possess a current Maryland license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing or be a Licensed Clinician from Maryland Board of Counselors or Social Work Examiners.
